Power Meri – fundraiser shirt for grassroots women’s rugby league in Papua New Guinea
“Power Meri means ‘Powerful Women’ in Tok Pisin, the national language of Australia’s rugby league-mad nearest neighbour, Papua New Guinea (PNG). And since the release of Power Meri, the multi-award-winning documentary about women’s rugby league in PNG and its impact on gender equality, it’s a phrase now widely associated with women in sport.
Inspired by the film and featuring a quote from Power Meri, Brisbane Broncos, Queensland and PNG Orchids star Amelia Kuk (“It Starts With Us”), this shirt encapsulates everything we love to support about women’s sport, rugby league and PNG’s groundbreaking national team.
Proceeds from this shirt fund training kits for grassroots women’s rugby league teams across PNG, helping the next generation of Power Meri pursue their NRLW dreams and play their part in shifting mindsets about the status and treatment of women within and beyond sport.”

Shipping
We mail domestic orders via local couriers and Australia Post. Delivery to metro areas usually takes 1-3 days once the item has been sent. This is a general guide and delivery times can vary.
